TWO Bond films in one evening ? and on a school night... tut tut.

I'm trying to resist Blue-Ray for at least another 6 months but you're not making it easy.

Do you think they will release the Briefcase special edition like they did before Casino Royale on DVD for Blu Ray as this is Bond for me and maybe some Martini Glasses frosted etc with 007 on them. To be opened by an Aston Martin Keyring, the possibilities are endless a Q shaped key

There'll be no fooling me - I have the Bond DVD collection so I'll be waiting for the entire collection on Blu-Ray before I buy anything.

Lovefilm is a blessing though for this sort of thing....

I bought a few of the 'remastered' DVDs last year and thought that DVD quality was pretty good unless you got really close to the screen. In fact I believe it made the films and actors look older!

DTS Master Audio: Yes Please!

Do we need to see more detail and wrinkles on Roger Moore etc? Mmmmm...

The Bond films receiving a 'frame by frame' remaster & restoration, forgive the cynicism, but haven't we heard this before (Blu-ray not withstanding)?

Or is this a genuine, thorough restoration, so that we'll see, finally, the old fight- & chase-scenes that were laughably under-cranked (speeded up) - eg the pre-title beach-fight in OHMSS - get speed corrected?

And will the infamous continuity error during the Diamonds' car chase - the Mustang two-wheel alleyway stunt - get a re-edit (the correct footage does exist)?

Or should we file under the heading, 'Don't hold your breath'? (As usual.)

No, this is a thorough restoration - I did a comparison with the Ultimate Edition DVDs (the most recent remaster to date) and there were clear differences.

Obviously I can't comment on OHMSS and Diamonds Are Forever, as we haven't seen them yet, but from what Mike at Lowry was saying, they've gone back to original camera negatives (rather than a frame-by-frame restoration of a theatrical print), so it should be improved.

Yes - as in the review, there is DTS Master HD audio, and it sounds punchy, pacy and clear. It's a much better surround sound mix than they did for the DVDs.

And because the soundtrack is less compressed, you get crisper dialogue and more dynamic action scenes - explosions sound like, well, explosions, rather than dull roars/thumps, for example.
