Why is it taking so long for the new Sky EPG to be pushed out to Samsung boxes?

Hi, I think two things I would miss would be the ability to go through the info bar and bring up the info on the channel without having to actually change to that channel.

They've finally implemented that have they? About time, that was always the best thing about Virgin/Telewest's EPG, they've had it for years...

No kit worth mentioning...

I can wait. The fact that you can get ITV HD once the EPG is upgraded will only bother me once the Champions League starts. I cannot stand watching football on ITV at the moment. However, thinking about it the other day, there is not one other programme I watch on that channel. No wonder it is in trouble.
CA 840A; Sony BDPS550; DacMagic; Monitor Audio RS6AV with Radius R90 rears; Sony KDL40W2000; Sony STR-DA3400ES; Sky HD; Linksys DMA2100; Chord CS Plus RCA; Chord Chorus 2 XLR; Chord Odyssey 4; Clearer Audio Silver Coaxial; various mains cables.

Here here, ITV truly has a shocking selection of programmes. The only two things I watch on the channel are Harry Hill and the footy.

Going back to the new EPG, I personally think you're not missing out on much. I've had it for a couple of months now. It's slow, extremely temperamental, and more than anything not particularly user friendly. I think they should've just given the old EPG a bit of a visual spruce up for HD, and that would've suited me down to the ground.

Just had a flaky Thomson replaced with an Amstrad, after the amazing Shaun the Sky tried a stack of Samsung boxes, none of which would talk to my Onkyo receiver.

And I'm back to the original EPG – and you know what? I think I prefer it....

I've just had the same experience today, I was just getting used to the new one.......

Pioneer Kuro PDP4280XD Plasma TV / Dennon AVR1910 Reciever / KEF 2005.3 Speakers / Pioneer BDP320 Bluray Player / Sky+ HD (Amstrad) / Nintendo Wii / QED Silver Anniversary XT / Van Den Hul Flat HDMI / True Colour Industries Coral

 SNAP Andrew..

My Thomson just got replaced with a new  Amstrad DRX280 Sky+ box because I have moved everything to a different room, and I wasn't able to run a phone lead to the BT point. My old Thomson box wasn't clever enough (or designed) to accept a wireless DECT signal from a transmitter at the phone point, whereas the Amstrad is. So I simply got Sky to come and replace my box for me (free of charge, as it happens.. which was nice..) and plug in my DECT receiver at the back of the box, and voila.. all worked first time. The engineer simply got the box to 'dial out' and make a call to Sky Towers over the DECT airways while we held our breath.. and bingo - no problems.

He said that only the newer designs were designed to work wirelessly, and said that all new Sky box's designed recently by the current manufacturers should accept DECT receivers. It's in a bid to solve the phone cable issues and make the box easier to place in people's rooms without worrying about telephone points.

And btw.. I still haven't got my new TV card either. I called them 2 months ago and was told, "..it will be going out to you probably in the next week or so.."

 Still waiting!
