DCT is supposed to 'compact' the copper (or silver or whatever), making the electrons flow easier resulting in better sound. Cant say as ive tried one myself. My dad has Black Rhodium cables that are DCT treated but as they came like that I cant compare.

I am going to ask the electricity supply company to provide me with a cable direct from their generator will I have to burn that in as well?

That is a very good idea, your own personal mains spur for the hifi.

Debatable, some think so and hear a difference after time with cables and that difference has become known as burn in. Others hear no difference and are not convinced that such a thing exists.

People believed the world was flat, sounds a bit silly nowadays.

If some people don't believe the difference in mains upgrades, quality cables, burning in and interconnects etc just leave them to it. It is they that are missing out, and perhaps they just don't care.

Just enjoy the music.

Trouble is, we're the ones who know the world is round, believing the scientific evidence. The flat earthers rely on faith, and the fact their eyes see a flat horizon. Or maybe their world is swimming through space on the back of a giant turtle?

All I can say Red Dwarf and Tarquinh, is that you should try it sometime. Get on the Bay and get yourself a 2nd hand Nordost, attach it to your CDP and if you don't like it, sell it on for the same money. I'd be willing to bet you would hear what we've heard. No, it's not a seismic shift, but there is an air and depth on my system that wasn't there before (and the comparison was made against another branded mains cable rather than a cheapo kettle lead). A very nice refinement of the sound.

Sorry Tarquinh, but I do not remember you putting forward any scientific evidence to such cable debates, only comment.

I'm also willing to bet that if you were tested you wouldn't be able to differentiate between your Nordost and a 99p kettle lead.

Because so far nobody in the world has managed to do it.
