Re: Memories of Laskys

Bought my first CD player from the Liverpool store in 85. Bought it because on the same day Peter Gabriels's So was released on CD.

Yamaha - got memories of it being £270.....lasted 13 months then the laser went - heartbroken at the time as in those days there were no fit for purpose guarantees. It took me years to pay off the store card on it...

Shame, the Liverpool store's a bookies now. Sad thing is, other than Richer Sounds, there is no longer a hifi store in the city centre

My first memory of Lasky's was queueing up for what seemed like forever as a little kid.....while my mum got Noel Edmonds autograph at the Manchester branch!

Yeah bought my first proper hifi separates, Technics, amp, cd, tape deck and speakers and they threw in 10 cd's for free one of which was the Fine young canibals (the young and the cooked) from the tottenham court road branch remember having to go to collect it from their offsite warehouse on the other side of the road as they were short staffed at the time.
