Hello,
Well well, the amp is still not fixed it will have to go back to Yamaha UK the DSP-Z9 is very technical and will be only fixable by Yamaha UK.
I spoke to the engineer and he explained what he tryed, he didn't touch anything inside the amp because of the forementioned situation.
He did try a factory reset which didn't fix the problem, (press pure direct twice) to enter diagnostic menu, I'll check that and ask the engineer when am down to pick it up the week after next thats what he said on the phone press pure direct twice so if you can try that moonmin and see if that gives you a different menu? from holding the tone controls and balance and switching amp on which you suggested.
When the engineer ran the self diagnostic test on the amp he did pick up a fault which he reported to yamaha and they didn't seem to concerned about, am thinking that from what he said that there is a few processors in the DSP-Z9 and that the fault showed up from one of them, so its looking like a processor fault but tracking it down is the problem and wouldn't be economical to replace all processer to get the right one and Yamaha UK can run the tests, they also have the proper tools to use.
He did manage to test the power supply which was fine and also managed to get sound to output from the amp not in the normal way at the output stage.
So am going to be sending the amp back in a box which am hoping to get a good one at that and then i have something in the pipeline to send it back for little cost.
Have emailed Yamaha UK and explained to them the problem going to ask them if i need a RMA number and am getting the address from Craigavon TV Centre.
I'll keep posting here till i get it fixed!
Regards,
Niall Mcc
