Questions for John Clayton - I signed up for the vip emails and get them through on a regular basis but notice if i log on to the website the prices never match the vip deals even if i log in - am i missing something?

Also very annoying when i get the mailer then log on and says deal only available in store - you have sent me an email so i feel i should be able to buy at that price online.

look forward to hearing from you

 thanks

I'm sure John will answer (I continue to be impressed by his involvement), but just to point out that there are some brands no retailer is allowed to sell online - manufacturers including Marantz and Denon (to name but two) do not permit internet sales of most of their range (micros and accessories excepted). It's a strategy designed to ensure customers still have a choice of good high-street stores they can get demos, support etc from.

Re: richersounds con

thanks clare - thought would ask in this thread as John seems to be keeping an eye on it so hopefully hear from him soon.

I know what you mean by some manufacturers blocking sales online but not sure thats the reason in all cases - not sure if they don't have a central warehouse and despatch department so harder for them to do or not or whether they just prefer people to go to stores or whether stock is in short supply and been sent to stores.

I have a local store in Leeds but just prefer the ease of buying on line and having delivered than driving into city centers to collect and carrying through the city.

Confused. PeterTyson.co.uk has plenty of Denon & Marantz kit. Back in the day, I bought a Denon AV-1507 from PT.co.uk (with a hefty discount, too). Or is PT.co.uk exempt because it's also a bricks-&-mortar outlet?
