Re: Sony Yakusa Playstation 3 for Bravia TV

Ah - do they not make games based on real crime syndicates then? Wait, hang on... what's this? Must have been made by a software company infiltrated by the Mafia I guess...

Just like this one was made by those Yakuza fearing folk at Sega. Look at those dragon designs on the front cover...

Re: Sony Yakusa Playstation 3 for Bravia TV

'I am glad you found the Yakuza game for the Ps2,I was mindscrewed by this game. I want to play the PS3 version. You might thnk you now have prove that simply sugggest its just good fun to have a game to be called Yazuka. No implicit or explicit links or respect to any  organised crimes from Sony etc.

But let me tell you, when you play this game its exactly about a real life dogooder Yazuka kicking the rubbish out of other yakuzas. Its exactly how it happens. Honour, Family,Vengence are all in this game.

Its a Yakuza simulation really more than a game. Its life inmitating art...........

Re: Sony Yakusa Playstation 3 for Bravia TV

Flatscreen,

I don't think I have really understood the point you're making. I feel a little stupid as a result, and was hoping you would be kind enough to clarify your comments, and explain your point/ argument, followed by your reasoning and supported by the information you used to reach your conclusions, unless I have understood you correctly.

Are you saying that:

1. The Yakuza are a criminal organisation in Japan with a long-standing history,

2. as a result of this, videogame developers have made a game based on it,

3. the game is very popular and

4. that Sony have released a special edition PS3 to coincide with the release of the 3rd game to capitalise on a fan base?

If this is your claim, I don't understand where the controversy lies. Most games are influenced by real life. As pointed out, above, the Mafia game was clearly influenced by the Mafia, what's different about the Yakuza game and subsequent console design?

Your statement, below, has confused me further. Please could you also clarify the underlined?

"You might thnk you now have prove that simply sugggest its just good fun to have a game to be called Yazuka. No implicit or explicit links or respect to any  organised crimes from Sony etc."

I apologise if my post is completely or partially unintelligible, but I have re-read your comments more times than I think they really warranted as a use of my sleep time, and I am still blisfully ignorant of what it is you are saying in this thread.

FLATSCREEN:

GTA doesn't feature a specified known brand of real life criminals. its a game based on GTA. The Yakusa is a branded professinal synidicate with century old history. GTA doesn't have the same packaging or content. There is a distinction. You need to live in Japan and think Japanese  to comprehend. You are seeing this with a Western mindset. Understandably.

Please don't patronise me with your superficial analysis of the Japanese mindset. I think I am probably rather better qualified to understand these matters than you, based on the insight you have given us so far.

Does thinking Japanese merely extend to considering them 'a weird bunch', having no understanding of the recycling and environmental policies of the national and local governments, and having a view of organised crime seemingly based on computer games?

As you yourself said, apparently accurately.

FLATSCREEN:
I am glad you found the Yakuza game for the Ps2,I was mindscrewed by this game.

And quite frankly, your conspiracy theories are totally bizarre – do you honestly expect us to believe that people trust, and depend on, your analysis?

Re: Sony Yakusa Playstation 3 for Bravia TV

I think he's trying to say all major Japanese organisations are infiltrated by Yakuza members, especially at a senior level, and this is proven by Sony and Sega by the fact they have made products which reflect the designs used by the Yakuza in them.

This statement:

FLATSCREEN:
You might thnk you now have prove that simply sugggest its just good fun to have a game to be called Yazuka. No implicit or explicit links or respect to any  organised crimes from Sony etc.

is saying that Mr E and myself are wrong when we suggest Sony and Sega might just be making a game based around the Yakuza because it would sell well. This of course is completely implausible - the only answer obviously is that they wish to show off how their organisations are run by criminals.

(NB - I think he / she is a bit mad... Confused)

Re: Sony Yakusa Playstation 3 for Bravia TV

I think FLATSCREEN has a point and that Sony has made this Yakusa PS3 solely because they have been infiltrated buy the crime lords at a high level, and by his/her reconing the Yakusa members within Sony sit next to a certain Mr Homer Simpson which explains my limited PSP.
