Re: Interconnect help

I have owned Chord Crimson, Cobra 3 and VDH Name and D-103 II.
The only one i subsequently sold was the Cobra 3 to get the D-103 II.

My own preference in terms of quality and value is VDH Name which is an excellent cable to use with Arcam systems.
Arcam FMJ CD36 - Wadia 170i & V-Dac - Arcam FMJ A32 - Neat Motive 3.
Sennheiser HD595 - Little Dot MK III Headphone Amp.
Partington SuperDreadnaught, Chord Epic Super Twin, Van Den Hul 'D-102 III', Tacima CS929, ClearerAudio Copperline Mains.

Along similar lines, I bought one of these to give it a try and it is absolutely superb and for £25 delivered is quite outstandinig value for money. Also the guy has 100% feedback and a money back guarantee so it's a no-brainer. Only slight drawback is the 0.5 length cable is not as flexible as some.

I've just ordered some of these after reading up. Can't go wrong really - if I don't like them I'll send them back.

I think you'll be quite impressed with them, I've had mine for about three months and there negligable difference between the Chunky and my Chord Chameleon and at a third of the price. Let us know what you think of them.

I've ordered some Silver High Breeds off Ebay. I will do an A/B 'live' and report back. No brainer trial for the money.

Re: Interconnect help

Just received a pair of Silver High Breed today (0.5 m £23): first impression is they are quite impressive. And I'm not talking about value for money, they really sound nice. I'm comparing them against a pair of Nordost Blue Heaven, and, in my system, they sound even better: I really like the midrage, detailed but not harsh...more "musical". The bass is tight, deep, solid, and I have l less resonace, the sound is faster. These are definitely keepers in my system!

Arrived yesterday. A really well made cable - the plugs lock in really tight. First impressions are good - much better bass detail than chord crimson and a more balanced sound than the blue heavens I was using. Not any more...

They come in 0.7m length now - ideal for my system.
I'd like to hear an ASR emitter II.

Fascinating.  Keep us posted on those chuncky cables.  The feedback the guy has from buyers is pretty impressive.  They also look very nice indeed.  Maybe I'll try them too...

Re: Interconnect help

Ive had both types of Silver High Breeds, the Synergy One, and Two, they are both absolutely amazing ic's for really silly low prices.

Ive had some high end ic's in my system, Black Rhodium Oratorios, (£600)   and Chord Anthem, (£330)   and the SHB stuff is up there with them soundwise!

I also have the 10 awg speaker cable for them too, absolutely stunning, and easily on par with the £130 a metre stuff I had a while back.

Dont hesitate, try them, money back guarantee, so how can you lose?

Re: Interconnect help

Now we need What Hifi to do a review. If they do, I reckon the likes of Nordost, VDH, QED and Chord are going to be seriously miffed..

The mark up on cables has long been a disgrace...

Good to hear, I think they are an amazing bargain and will switching all my cables soon. It's nice to know that some patient trawling on ebay can still unearth real gemsBig Smile
