any advice on this would be great folks!

looking to finally get a projector but the room which i propose to place it in is unusual. 20ftx15ft room size,the projector ideally going around the 16-17ft mark, however there are some supporting pillars and low hanging lintels around the 15ftx15ft which would mean when i popstioned it on the ceiling i would-

A -need to position it off center to my screen wall,maybe by 2-3 foot,is this possible? or

B- need to position it below a low hanging support,(about foot and a half from ceiling) and direct it up towards the screen wall,again slightly off center.this however places the projector about head height

My other option is to place it center,in front of these bothersome lintels but reducing the distance to the screen wall (approx 12-13ft) which would reduce my screen size which i dont really want to do!

was thinking of the infocus in80 or the panasonic ae3000 at this time. will be sitting approx 14 ft from the screen.

The sort of projectors in your price range do have a certain amount of horizontal shift, allowing the projector to sit off centre to a point. This will vary, so you'd need to check how much they can manage this. Careful though, as some projectors don't have this feature.

The PTAE3000 is one of the most flexible units available and should do what you are looking for. Just rememeber that if you use maximum horizontal lens shift it will impede the amount of vertical movement available.

The 3000 is just about to become a 4000 so there are bargains to be had in the next few weeks. The 4000 doesnt offer better placement but will improve the performance.

hi mate,when is the panasonic 4000 out and how much will it be? iv just recently bought a infocus x10 but im going to sell it because its to loud will the panasonic be as loud? also how will it compare picture quality wise to the x10/in80?
