What Happened to Squash Balls

WHF use to have tips for improving Fidelity on the cheap, one of them was Placing 1/2 squash balls under your CD player to absorb vibration, Do not see this being reccomended much is that because of the cheap availability of things like sorbothane feet is this still the done thing?

I Still have my 1/2 squash balls under my CD player Big Smile

Re: What Happened to Squash Balls

Which "dot" is the best to use?
Im thinking of using a few balls cut in half to insulate my centre speaker from the glass top shelf of my new tv stand (delivered last week but still in the box waiting to be assembled, had a bad case of the flu for the last 9 days).

Good question, I've wondered the same myself in the past.

I think the weight of the component in question will have a bearing on which dotWink

I asked for the softest option in the shop, From memory you need the slower ones they are soft.

Re: What Happened to Squash Balls

Thanks for that but I reckon I'll be sticking to sorbothane feet if required. I'd only lose fingers cutting squash balls in half. Oh, and spend too much time worrying that I hadn't cut them precisely!
