problem uploading avatar picture

hi,

I'm browsing to the picture I want to upload in my forum settings,  selecting it.  then clicking 'update'  I get a message saying it has been updated, but my avatar picture doesn't update. ( I know it says it could take up to 10 minutes or so, but I tried it days ago!)

The picture is a jpeg and is only 4k... I'm using firefox as my browser.
