'The Dark Knight' is a very good tester and a very good film to boot. The beginning bank job scene (and a few others through-out the film) is shot in IMAX, so you don't get the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.

Personally, I think chapter 6 from 'Knowing' takes some beating for sound and visuals and all out jaw-droppability, but the film itself isn't as good as 'Dark Knight' (I seem to be in a minority that actually enjoys it).

A/V: Sony KDL-V40A12U & BDP-S350, BT Vision, Onkyo 875, B&W MT-30 7.1, QED A/V cables, R.A power cables

Hi-Fi: Arcam A85 & CD192, B&W 602S3 (& the PV1), Partington stands, Grado SR125, Kimber I/Cs, Rothwells, QED speaker cables, R.A power cables.

I'll second the bank job scenes in TDK.

If you're after Bond with excellent picture and sound, but a good film too... It's gotta be 'Casino Royale'.

The Dark Knight - just a great fim, great picture and great audio.  However be aware it defaults to dolby digital and not the higher rated audio when it starts.  You will need to change it manually.

Knowing - Ch 6 airplane crash is good but the later train crash is even better (for audio)

Planet Earth Box set - stunning visuals

Band of Bothers Box Set - Fantastic story and brilliant audio.

Hower the best picture quality I have ever seen is a little known film called Baraka (dont expect a plot or any dialogue but the PQ is mind-blowingly amazing). Worth renting if you can find it.

Pioneer KRP-600A, Pioneer LX08, Pioneer SC-LX81, Sky HD+, Tannoy Revolution Signature DC6T, DC6LCR, Arena Highline 500 Rears, Sunfire HRS-12 Sub, Chord Silver Plus HDMI & Chord Rumour Speaker Cables, Clearer Audio Mains Cables, AV Podium Rack

Dark Knight is the obvious one that everyone's mentioned.  Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is an outstanding transfer and well worth it for the bright colours and to show how well motion is dealt with and the final battle scenes are good for showing off a punchy subwoofer.

Watchmen is supposed to be a wonderful transfer as well but, although I've had it for a couple of weeks, I never seem to get around to checking for sure.  Maybe next weekend?

If you really want to impress ,Kill Bill vol1 is a stunner.Pristine picture and awsome sound.Right at the start of the film ,the fight sceen between Uma Thurman (black mamba) and Vernitia Green (copperhead) is fantastic and will blow away you and your lucky guests you want to impress. Its like you're in the living room with them.

Yep gotta agree with that.  Casino Royale is probably the best looking film I have (although admitedly I dont have that many!).  Jarhead is also a very good example of a quality Bluray film.  Although the subject matter itself may not be to everyones taste.
