Help me please!!!!!

Something is wrong with my wireless connection. All the green lights are showing on the router (sagam - sky issue) but I can't find it on my laptop or ipod touch. If I connect with ethernet it works. I have reset the router and been on phone for 40 mins to sky and got NO where. Please please can someone help. I've had issues with this router for two weeks now (orange light coming on the @ indicator) now this problem which is really trying my patience! I have suggested to sky that the router is f**ked but they are having none of it - what can I do???

Re: Help me please!!!!!

I'll try and help but I don't have actually this router.

Googling seems to suggest changing channels as a start point. Have you tried this?

Re: Help me please!!!!!

My netgear router has an "Allow Broadcast of Name (SSID)" option. If this is disabled you won't be able to see the network. Just a thought.

Re: Help me please!!!!!

Thanks guys for your help, can you believe this - it appears that positioning the router in a certain way affects it's performance. Seriously it does. If I put it on my bedside table I get nothing, BUT.... if it's on the floor (right next the the connection point btw) it's all good? I really can't believe this.......

Re: Help me please!!!!!

Make sure the antenna is away from any metal work and that the orientation is such that you are not 'above' the top of the antenna as there will be a null in the radiation pattern.

The propagation will be affected by location and antenna orientation, try various positions.

BTW, my own netgear just stopped working and I tried all I could, only the intervention of a friend, who rest everything and started trying all permutations until it 'started' again?
