I currently use spotify by streaming it wirelessly to my PS3 (Using jamcast) then through to my amp amd speakers...the sound is OK but does anyone know if it can be improved ay adding anything to it?

Are you using the free or the premium version of Spotify? 

The free version only uses low bitrate (160 kbps) so other than to subscribe to the premium service, there isn't much you can do to improve it.....

The premium version has a higher bitrate(320kbps) so adding an external dac to your set-up is worth consideration.

For what it is, the free version sure ain't bad. It might "only" be 160kbps, but that's not too shabby in practice. I listen to it a lot (via headphones admittedly) and it's fine. Plenty of detail and atmosphere therein and that's to a wide range of music.
