Lip Sync LG 42LH5000 and Foxsat PVR - cheap cable the culprit?

Hi

I have an LG 42LH5000 and a Humax Foxsat PVR - on HD broadcasts from the BBC and ITV there is a noticable lip-sync problem where the sound is late (ie the Humax's lip-sync adjustment tool can only make matters worse).

Frustratingly, the BBC HD lip-sync test broadcast works fine, it only seems to be on 'normal' HD programmes (SD programmes are fine too).

If I connect my Foxsat to a normal HIFI using phono leads, the sound coming from the HIFI is *perfectly* in sync with the picture.

Because the problem only appears on normal HD programmes, I can imagine that it is due to the amount of data involved in sending a detailed picture, rather than the black and white picture in the test broadcast. I am still using the cheap cable supplied with the PVR, rather than a more expensive bought one. Could this be the culprit?

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to resolve this problem? Is it possible to upgrade the firmware of the TV?

Thanks in advance
