Bang & Olufsen earphones

I'm after a new set of in ears for my ipod touch.

http://www.bang-olufsen.com/earphones

Really like the look of these and also like the way they are fully adjustable to sit in you ear correctly. Has anyone tried them? Any opinions welcome, other than "B&O is overpriced tat" as anyone with half a brain simply knows thats not true.

Thanks

Re: Bang & Olufsen earphones

Just read a cracking review on stuff if anyone's interested.

Also lots of fairly positive reviews on the net. Any chance of a review WHF?

Re: Bang & Olufsen earphones

I like the look of them. I've been a fan of B&O for as long as I can remember. They make beautiful gear that's been really well designed.

I'd get 'em, mate. I might just join ya, I need a new set for the gym.

Re: Bang & Olufsen earphones

A mate of mine has had a pair for ages and he raves about em, have heard em myself and they are decent, plus the obvious cool styling that comes with b&o stuff is unique so ppl will ask you where you got them a lot, beware...lol.

Re: Bang & Olufsen earphones

I have a pair and they're ok...better than the ipod headphones and fit well. However, I'd have to say that I prefer in-ear phones, which tend to have a bit more base but take some time getting used to. After some trial and error, I finally settled on a pair of Shure 530 earphones, which I can't fault.

Re: Bang & Olufsen earphones

I also have a pair and as they are now available at some good discounted prices thay are not too bad.

Adjustment is great but as I have small ear openings the pads are a liitle large.

Even the sony supplied with my walkman ( not sure model but replacment price rather large, considering suppilied with the player) are a little large with the smallest rubber inserts.

Sound wise they are not a patch on the sony's. But you just can't resist the builds and design of the B&O's and the nice leather pouch for them, can you?

Certainly wouldn't pay £90 for them though.

Re: Bang & Olufsen earphones

I'm surprised, from the reviews I've read they should blow a set of freebie phones out the water. Did you buy a heavily discounted price pair? B&O tend not to supply their goods to any other retailers. Are you sure they are real, there is a load of fakes going around especially via ebay. This would explain why a set of freebie phones sound a whole lot better.

Ok, there are not 'freebies' as such just very good supplied plugs. Sony did ( not sure if now) supply very good quality plugs.

To replace them, they are about £45/9 I'd thought I'd lost them and had to check the price.

By B&O's are not fakes I can assure you.

Yes they sound very good, but as previous peole have said, there are sonic improvements to be had using inner ear types.

They ooze quality though, and of course, if your a poser meet all the requirements I use them with nothing onStick out tongue

Re: Bang & Olufsen earphones

Can you sugest where I would get a pair a a good discounted price? My research has only brought up "suspect" pairs so far. There is a multitude of articles saying buying from anywhere other than B&O there is a 90% chance you will be buying fakes I certainly wouldn't even consider shipping them from the far east as the 90% chance of them being fake mentioned earlier will no doubt be approaching 100%.

Re: Bang & Olufsen earphones

I too, do not like long term listening with inner ear types.

I paid either 69 or 79£ when I had the privilege to fly first class for free!! I wanted a nice souvenir, maybe BA have an on-line outlet?

Re: Bang & Olufsen earphones

Thanks Eddy though missed your last post. Went onto B&O store today and paid the full price. At the rate the euro is at the moment it wouldn't have made a huge difference.Think the midrange/treble is absolutely fantastic, really open sounding. Bass aint brilliant but thats par for the course with buds, have some SR60's for that. I also got to spend a good 30 mins playing with the latest completely unaffordable, yet brilliant B&O stuff. Their new digital player is awesome shame I don't have a spare 4k lying around. So in my book the extra few quid was worth it :-)

Re: Bang & Olufsen earphones

No worries. They're a nice piece of kit and for the money and little taste of quality in a world of mass produced rubbish.

My Dad has a B&O kit from  1970 and only the LF drivers have been replaced and its still going strong. So I've always had  a soft spot for their stuff. TBH I'm driven to UK HiFi myself but owning just alittle B&O feels good.

Regards the cost, if you wanted just the mechanics involved (not the drivers) from a local engineering company, as a one off, £90 would be an impossibility.

Hope you enjoy them.
