Amazonbasics digital cables

Amazon in the UK have released their frustration free packaging, which they've sold in the US for a long time now. Less plastic, wire and more simple cardboard boxes. As part of this they've released a set of AmazonBasics cables

eg a digital optical cable http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001TH7GSW/ 8 quid

and a HDMI cable http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002C1BHIO/ this is the posher one 24 quid

Plus a nice looking male DVI to male HDMI http://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-Dual-Shielded-Adaptor-Frustration-Free-Packaging/dp/B001TH7T2U/ only 12 quid

they look nicely made, but I wondered if you'd be reviewing them?

cheers Gavin

Re: Amazonbasics digital cables

I wonder who makes them for Amazon?

£24 for a basics range makes them expensive compared to a load of other cables Amazon sell.

I agree, I was curious at the price point they'd chosen. Cheap for digital optical, towards the dear end of cheap for the HDMI and two ranges of HDMIs. Quite nice simple branding and card packaging rather than bulky shop-demonstrable plastics.

The male DVI to male HDMI is an uncommon beast too, so I'll be getting one of those later in the month.
