Hi ya!
I'm getting excited as I'm nearing the stage of being able to upgrade from an all in one system to a 'proper' seperates sytem and have narrowed my wish list to either the Denon 1910 or 2310 with either the Kef 2005.3 or the new Q Acoustic 2000's. The system will be used 90% of the time for movies.
My sofa is backed right up against the wall so the rear speakers will be directly to the side rather than behind. The rear's would be only be between 1m-2m away from my seating position. I have read that in this case it is best the have the rear speakers mounted high near the ceiling to increase the distance away from the ears and create a better effect. Is this correct?
I like the idea of the Q Acoustic's on stands as it would look neater with the cabling but if wall mounting is the way forward then the Kef's may look nicer! (sorry, thinking out loud :-) ) Although sound quailty is priority so I'll deal with cables etc to suit which speakers and positions work best.
Also, what are the advantages of having floorstanders as the front left and right? Are they always an upgrade so to speak? In the case of the Q Acoustics for example, would having the fronts as floorstanders be an advantage or would it upset the balance between the 5 speakers?
I'm hoping to arrange a demo in the next couple of weeks to try and help me make (finally) make up my mind! Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks a lot! :-)
