I am about to buy the RX6, but my room is 3 meters by 3 meters. (about 10ft by 10ft).

this will be enough space for RX6 act? taking into account the
resonances of the low frequencies and everything which spoils the pure
sound?

I've spent some quality time with the RX6s as well as the RS6s.  I think your room is a little tight, but if you use the port plugs in the back and keep the speakers at least 18" out from the walls, they will sound quite good.

However, I personally would consider the RX2 on stands for such a small room.  Still fanstastic sound with good low end punch.  You'll save a few quid and they will work better in that small room.

BTW, the whole RX line is fanstastic value for money.  Great choice.

I think your room is too small for them, personally.

I have a pair of RS6's in a room measuring 11ft x 15ft.

Even with the bungs in, the bass is a little boomy when the speakers are close to the wall.

Moving them 12-18" away from the wall improves the sound.

to choose between the following standmouts, which would advise you all? between the MA BR2 / KEF IQ30 or BW 685?

and between BW CM5 / MA RX2 or Focal Chorus 807V.

and for other models Floorstanders, you would advise others to the size of my room?


in town where I live in Portugal there is no shops where I can listen
to before I choose, so I'll have to choose by ordering through the
review or your advice / opinion ....:((

Gerrard: I haven't listened to the RS6, so can't really say. I'd be surprised if the difference was significant enough to make it a worthwhile upgrade though. RX8 maybe?

Galinhamix: It's a bit of a tough one if you can't audition, but I'd stick with standmounts over floorstanders with that room size. Buying blind, I'd be tempted by either the 685 or the RX2 to match the CA650. Don't know anything about the Focal Chorus. Hopefully someone else will be along shortly to offer advice.

What is the room acoustics like? do you have hard floors or carpets? soft furnishings and bookcase(s)? Like the others say, strictly speaking, your room is a tad too small to make the most of floorstanding speakers, but my room is 18' x 13' and my RS6's sound fine. We have carpets + sofa, armchair and a bookcase - these do tend to soften any low-end boom.

Focal speakers would be perfect with your amp, but the only model I've heard is 714's, which are....yep, you guessed, floorstanders.

I've been using Focal 807V with dedicated stands. Don't know about RX2, but Focals are much better than RS2..!
