Ryan Babel

What a superb goal...

and then he hits a free kick out for a throw, that was worse then Geoff Thomas' effort for England a few years back.

and then misses a simple chance and then miss times a header for the goal. He is a nightmare for a supporter. He is as quick as you like, massive with great shots from both feet. However, he hardly ever plays well.

I still believe he is a top player, should have started the match.  Voronin was terrible!!!

I believe he could be a top player but whenever Rafa starts him he does nothing.

voronin was marvellous

as someone said on the bbc watching him gives you hope that you can still play champions league football

Yeh and then he misses a sitter one on one with the goal keeper.  I think the main problem with Babel is that he is an out n out striker..upfront in a 4-4-2 with Torres he would be immense..Rafa plays him out of position and as a winger he tends to lose the ball more than anything..5-6 90min games on the trot and i think hes potential could pay off..


We are hanging on by a thread now in both the pl and the cl and Voronin has proved he cant cope at the highest level!  I think Babel should start for the next bunch of pl and cl matches and see where that takes us.

Couldn't agree more. Rafa has never given him a proper chance in my view.

I have to disagree. He's been played many times and not performed. On his day unplayable but he has his day once a season.

10 mins at the end of a match when the team is struggling is not good for any player determined to get better.  Tevez realised this and left Man U.  I trust Rafa to pick the team back up, but his man management skills have never been great..Alex Ferguson would have made Babel in to a monster..IMO Rafa relies on players that already have the skill instead of improving them..

Babel has had a few starts this season already and fluffed his lines each time. He has never scored after starting I don't think.
