Start realising your ambitions and dont put them off. Forget 2012, think of the next bus that could hit you. I had a friend who passed away without realising one of his ambitions, so recently I realised it for him and bought a 'retirement' Jaguar. I dont retire for another 9 years. These end of the world stories maybe have a role in encouraging (sensible) people to think, I should really do that project or whatever now.
