Stop watching the Good Food channel?

Seriously, have never encountered this problem - has anyone else?

We get an issue with insects attracted to the projector screen in this weather (lights off; windows open),  but they appear to be toilet-trained Wink

Re: HELP FLYS ARE CRA@#!NG ON MY TV

seriously i have made this a little bit comical but they do keep landing on the screen and leaving deposits. so when cleaning it makes it all the more difficult. I use monster lcd tv cleaner with a micro fiber cloth. Is there any thing else you recommend ?

Re: HELP FLYS ARE CRA@#!NG ON MY TV

It maybe just a concidence, but I clean my LCS screen very carefully using blue Ajax window cleaner and a soft paper kitchen roll.
It seems to keep the "krap" off the screen except the stuff that's being broadcast.

Re: HELP FLYS ARE CRA@#!NG ON MY TV

Are they 'house flies' or those very small ones?

I had lots of the small ones last year, which I put down to something in a bag of house plant compost, as they only appeared after using that.   They were a pain, but I didn't notice them on my TV (it was a CRT at the time).

If they're attracted to fruit (mine didn't seem to be) then maybe you could put a bowl of ripe, or even rotting, fruit in a corner and hope they find that more appealing than your screen!

Otherwise, this site may be helpful.

(I have two African Grey parrots, but they seem totally disinterested in eating flies - can't say I blame them, although I did swallow a large bluebottle about 10 years ago - I was cycling down a steep road, singing (!), and accidentally ate it - the taste is best described as extremely bitter Stick out tongue)

You need a fly paper. if they've got something to read they won't bother you.

Re: HELP FLYS ARE CRA@#!NG ON MY TV

they seem to like the tv more than the fly paper i have put near it.

maybe they like the bright colours i could get one of those big electric fly killer thingies put it above the tv but knowing my luck when their little bodies explode on contact and rain down on the tv and make even more mess !!!

Re: HELP FLYS ARE CRA@#!NG ON MY TV

You could always put a large cowpat in the corner of the room - they'll likely prefer that to the screen.Big Smile  Although, thinking about it, do they only leave their deposits during certain programmes - do you watch a lot of soaps??
