Boring but vital!

Hi everyone,

Have spent the day with my home cinema amp, hiding the wiring etc. Now I'm paranoid as when I moved house, I didn't put the power cord in the box with the amp and can't find it. I've got another lead but am unsure what amp fuse is right. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Re: Boring but vital!

Without knowing the make/model of your amp it's hard to say,but a look in the instruction manual should tell you the fuse rating.
Pioneer PDP-LX5090/BDP-LX71,Humax HDR/9300T,AB-IPBox,Mac Mini,Beresford Caiman,Roksan Kandy MKIII,Arcam AV9/P7,PMC FB1i/TB2M-Ci/DB1i,BK Monolith DF,Chord cables,Tacima CS929

Re: Boring but vital!

Thanks for getting back! This prompted me to go through the manual again. However, it unfortunately gives no details about anything as menial as a plug fuse!

The AVR is a Vifa Reference VR8X. It's a 6.1 amp and does 140w into 8 ohms in 2 speakers and 100w into 6 ohms in a full 6.1 config. Power consumption is 650w max.

Is this of any help?!

Thanks for your input

Re: Boring but vital!

Many thanks!

I thought it might be a 5, but having previously blown the internal fuses in my hi-fi amp in a similar situation, I didn't want a repeat!

Thanks again,
