Warranty question.

Hi all,

Looking to buy a item from ebay, I have contacted the seller and they assure me it is brand new and boxed insurance replacement.

I dont know if there will be a receipt with it as it was from an insurance company. There will no doubt be manufacturers warranty details in the box, but as I may not have a receipt would I still be covered.

Many thanks

Re: Warranty question.

Well, I assume the seller will have a letter from the insurance company explaining the circs under which he/she acquired it, but one has to wonder why, if it's an insurance replacement, it's being sold boxed and sealed.

You also have to take into account whether or not the manufacturer of the item offers a transferable warranty...

Re: Warranty question.

Thanks Andy,

Contacted the seller and asked them about letters/receipts etc that could be used for warranty purpose, will wait to here from them.

I would not like to accuse someone of dodgy dealings, however peoploe have been know to defraud insurance companies for items not lost/stolen then I suppose they then have the choice to sell them on, or keep them.

This is only a rumour though, I am not sure people would actually do this, what do you think?

I guess it could be that someone is just taking this opportunity to upgrade?
