 Oooooh, saw them live at Wembley..... warm up for the Foo's. Fantastic

Have seen them a few times.most recently in october in their home town (Sunderland) at the Split Festival which is a showcase for local talent and The FH's were headlining and were absolutely brilliant......

Tori Amos Under The Pink. A beautiful record and very well recorded. A good dynamic range, real rockers and gentle ballads.

Genesis Selling England By The Pound SACD. One of my all time favourites given new life on SACD.Hard to believe it is 35 years old. Sounding terrific on my new Oppo 83.

More Amorphis. All thriller and no filler..........strong songwriting, punchy riffs, heavy rhythms and an excellent combination of keyboards and guitar. Eclipse is the best metal album I have heard for ages.

On a roll now, after stating 'Eclipse' was the best metal album I have heard in ages, along comes another one. However, there is one caveat to The Devin Townsend Band's 'Synchestra'. It is such a wall of sound that unless you have a system that can dig deep, capture detail and cope with huge dynamics, this will sound a mess.......otherwise, it is absolutely chuffing magnificent.....

 It's good, but it's no 'Terria'.....

The finest exponents (till I find another similar band) of Norwegian goth/metal/punk/prog. In The Woods.. make lush, anthemic, moody, thoughtfull, mellow/heavy, slow/fast music, which pretty much covers everything that modern Scandinavian progressive rock has been producing over the past 20 years. The production and musicianship is excellent. They must have some brilliant music schools and recording studios over there to produce such consistently high standard work.

Since one of the main elements to prog rock is experimentation, it would seem unnecessary to describe something as experimental prog rock, but Kayo Dot certainly push the boundaries and produce an amazing imaginative soundscape. They easily combine woodwind and strings with thrash metal riffs and produce dramatic music in the vein of Mogwei and King Crimson.
