Not sure am hearing "true HD"

Dear all, have been really happy with my set up, however I have just recieved Batman the Dark Knight BR which is supposed to be True HD.

My beloved Denon 1909 is displaying Dolby Digital??

I have a Panasonic BD35 which is set to bitstream so why am I not getting True HD, hopefully it is just me being a bit thick so any comments regarding how basic very very welcome.

Also I cant get the Denon to show anything other than stereo from PS3 any ideas on any settings.

Like I said I have been listening like this for weeks and am happy, would just feel happier seeing HD audio or something on the front of the reciever.

You will get a choice of soundtracks on bluray discs. If you go into the settings at the top menu of Dark Knight, you will be able to choose Dolby HD.

How is it hooked into the Denon? If HDMI, which cable are you using?

Ahhhh, did not think of that, standard HDMI got with V+ box.  Have got QED HDMI cable denon to TV. Would that cable make a difference if swapped round?

Could be, if the standard HDMI cable isn't 1.3 spec, it can't bitstream the audio. Is it the QED HDMI-P cable you've got?

Hi, I think your problem might be in your settings on your blue ray player.

On my BD55 you have to set "BD-Video Secondary Audio" to Off.
if this is not done it will only output dolby digital and dts.

Blue

That looks fine. On most BD players, you can bring up info on playback during the movie, showing time elasped, language, output type etc. What does that show?

To get tru colour, 24 fps (if your screen does all that), you will need a 1.3 hdmi cable and if you want HD audio, you will need the same. It's bound to be something really simple....
