I have one of these units connected to a current model  Iipod classic, whilst I can get the on-screen menus on via a  tv, I cannot get video playback via a tv, Audio is ok

 

Any suggestions

Have you got the dock's 'onscreen display' mode set to 'off' when you are trying to watch video?

No on screen mode is set to on and Ipod tv out is enabled.  I can see the menus on screen but not the actual video
