best remake

just wondering what everyones favourite remake is


personally i'd have to go with the Fly (easily trumps the original)


also special mention for 3.10 to Yuma


anyone else?

Would '300' be classed as a remake of 'The 300 Spartans' or do they just share the same subject matter?

I would say The Thing, but then I never saw the original. Be amazed if it was better though.

Assault on Precinct 13 isn't a bad remake. Not if you use the Get Carter or The Wicker Man remakes as benchmarks.

Ben Hur - big improvement on the 1926 version:

The Departed (remake of Infernal Affairs) is very good.

King Kong.  Oceans 11, the italian job, 12 monkeys and i think even "the departed" was based on a chinese film.
