I'm currently in the market for a new TV. After reading reviews the LG 42LH5000 seems really good, but ideally I would like a 46''+ TV. I've seen that there is a 47'' version of the same tv, the LG 47LH5000, which I cannot find any reviews for. Is this TV just as good as the 42'' version but just bigger? I will do a lot of gaming, and also connect a PC to it, so input lag is a big concern - something no reviews seem to inform about.

Also, been looking at a 50'' panasonic g10, but feel that I do not really want to take any risk of screen burn.

 What should I do? It is so difficult to choose a TV, since even if I look at 5 star TVs in any class it's nearly impossible to find out what they are like for gaming in terms of input lag.

I've asked on this one often...and had no joy..so good luck. Despite gaming being a huge hd source it just laaaags out of reviews.....and i will give my loyalty to the first mags that always include this.

If my living room was marginally better my first choice would be the g10.....every mag loves it so no brainer...plasma = zero lag...and screen retention issues are lower down than bleeding as an issue

I do a bit of gaming, mainly through my 360 (stuff like Fifa, GOW2, Halo 3, COD4) and haven't noticed any input lag on my plasma. Nor have I had any sreen burn despite leaving a static image on screen for 6 hours when I fell asleep watching a dvd - so I don't think this is really too much of an issue.

However, it's probably not advisable to connect a PC to a plasma - someone at What Hi Fi would be better placed to advise on this though.

I also haven't noticed input lag on my Samsung LCD.

Thanks for all the advice, in the end I went for a 46'' G10 (£999 + quidco + they threw in a home cinema system worth £189 which I may end up not using since I think my Logitech Z-5500 might be better *Yes, I know I got a weak audio system. But it does me fine for now, it's now moved up to 2nd on the list of things needing upgrading :P*). Projectors seem nice, but the room I'm putting it in is small enough so a projector just doesn't seem that feasible. Not enough wall space really.

 So, I'm new to this whole thing about calibrating your TV for best picture. I'm psyched about getting my new G10 - anyone got a link or some advice regarding how to calibrate my new G10 when I get it? Perhaps some settings you are using yourselves?
