time for benitez to go ??

some people are calling for his head , and as much as i like him , and respect him as a manager , there are serious questions to be asked , why did he buy aquillane , when he knew he would miss almost a 3rd of the season ? why has he persisted with , ngog , el zhar , and the useless voronin ? spending £17m on glen johnson looks like good business , but he is a defender , albeit an attacking one , surely after last season benitez must have known that it was cover for torres and gerard that was needed ? 7 home draws cost liverpool the league , not being able to break down the likes of hull and stoke is the difference between utd and pool , look at uniteds forward line from last year , rooney , ronaldo , tevez , berbatov ... benitez should have bought a top forward , maybe two , crouch , pavlychenko , huntelar , babtista , tevez , adebayor , bent , the list goes on , i know the tight ass yanks were not going to break the bank , but if he bought any two of those names , instead of aquillani and johnson , and maybe got cattermole , surely the squad would be much stronger ??? is it just me that sees the teams current state being down to him ??

Given the precarious nature of football, I wouldn't be surpised to see him lynched. It could be a case of: "Benitez shaved by Gillette".

they can't afford to get rid of him.  some strange buys but he's still the best manager they've had for a while.  i might slag him off some more depending on how tomorrow goes.....

Apart from the 2 world class players (we all know who they are), Liverpool are another ordinary team this year. They don't have strength in depth anymore. Why did he get rid of Crouch and Keane? If results don't improve soon he will have to go because they cannot afford to be without the champions league income.

I heard that his contract stipulates he gets the full 5 years payment if he is sacked. Do Liverpool have £13,000,000 to spare

Damn good point! However, look at it another way: around 40% of Liverpool's revenue is generated from the Champions League. If they continue to blow hot 'n' cold and miss out on the top four, can they afford to keep him?

Re: time for benitez to go ??

Too early to panic. Things might look bad at the moment but I`m sure they will turn it around. When they lost to Sunderland they were away from home, without their best players, played badly and it still took a deflection off a beach ball to defeat them. Results have gone Liverpool`s way today with Spurs and Sunderland losing plus Villa only drawing with Wolves. Bearing in mind Man Utld are strong title contenders if Liverpool beat them this weekend they will only be four points behind. Don`t forget that although they`ve lost more league games this season they are drawing a lot less as well. Home draws to Hull and Stoke last year have been turned around to comfortable wins this year. Very early days.

theres no one happier than me after that fantastic win , but , if benitez had bought the kind of players i mentioned this win would have put us top , why struggle ??? wins produce points , not bore draws ...

Only if he finishes his quote first.
