5 years since running last time, 3 1/2 years since giving up 6 a side, 25 years into a smoking habit (and red wine). What was I thinking!

First run yesterday, according to GPed or whatever it's called, 4.7792 miles.

Sore today mind.

4 months to go before hell.

I hit the wall at 12 miles in the one I did. 1:51 so aiming to beat that, 3 runs per week from now on.

Maybe have porridge on the morning rather than a full English.

Once your running shoes have run-in a bit you will find it easier.

So while all the other runners are grabbing energy drinks during the marathon, you will be grabbing lit fags from strategically placed friends en route?

Perhaps you can get your favourite cigarette brand to sponsor you.....

I've had the running shoes for 10 years or so and they still look pretty new!
