Philips Blu Ray Home Cineam All-in-Ones

Hi What Hi-Fi,

I've just bought a Philips 42PFL9664. Wicked! Also got a great price at ASK on Tottenham Court Road (ask for Raj).

 Does any one at What Hi-fi Towers know when Philips will release their Blu Ray all-in-ones???

 I've read a stateside blog about them and they look quite nice.

 Or do I dive straight in with the Panny or Sony systems?

It's taken Philips a while to get them into this country in any numbers, but I'm hopeful of getting something into the February issue. Once it's confirmed I'll post details.

As an update, then: it seems likely that the UK will miss out on the current range altogether. Philips is fairly likely to wait for the next model cycle before getting any further Blu-ray in-a-box systems over here. If that changes, I'll let you know.

if you go on the philips website they are advertising a bluray ambisound speaker system which is retailing at £1100 it also looks very swish to.

 it has the speaker with a inbuilt bluray player inside and seperate subwoofer  hope this helps.

I couldn't wait so dived in blind on a Philips Hts7500 for £600 from Pixamania.

 I guess they must be importing them from the continent!!

Hope its as good as the PFL429664. I'll let you know how I get on!

Yep, Pixmania is based in France (but part of UK retail group DSG - Dixons, Currys, PC World etc). Some products come with a European, rather than UK, plug....
