I auditioned the CM1's and the Monitor Audio RX1's. The retailer (Sevenoakes in Lincoln) were very good they set it up and left me for around an hour to make up my own mind.

For me the RX1's just edged it, partly because they were 88db v 84db on the CM1's and also 6ohm. But mainly because (for me) the sound was smoother and more transparent. That may well have been because they were connected to a 5k music fidelity system!!

I also liked the look of the RX1's  (no screws holding units in).

 Thanks for all you advise, even tho I maybe didn't buy what people suggested.

Now I am going to set them up and enjoy
