the kuro is gone , can panasonic make another one ?

i wonder , seeing as pioneer are finished with tv , and now that the remaining stocks of kuros are nearly gone , is it possible , likely , that some of their tv people will have found employment with panasonic ?? you would imagine so , where else would these type of people find employment than panasonic or samsung , lg , etc .. if that is the case , surely next years high end panny plasmas will be at least the equal of the kuro ?? and , why should they be more expensive ?? yes , everyone talks of the quality of materials used in kuros , but , your talking about electrical components , glass , plastic etc , not gold and titanium , doesnt panasonic already use all that ??

everything has come down in price too , the said experts would probably have to take a pay cut to get a job , materials should be cheaper , panasonic like many business at the moment will surely be trying to squeeze more value from whoever they do business with ??

also , the ex pioneer people would have the know how , surely pairing them with panasonics engineers , giving them a few months to fine tune things on a relatively low budget would yeild a ten g kuro in panasonic clothing ?? i mean all the investment has already been done by pioneer , panasonic make 50 , 60 inch panels too , how hard can it be ?? come on panasonic , give us the tv we want for next year ....

In Februrary, it was reported on business2press.com, that Pioneer were spinning off their tv division to Panasonic. I don't know if it happened in the end, but it certainly seems plausible.

If that's the case, then I wouldn't be surprised if Panasonic's plasmas get even better in the next year or two. As long as they give up on the crazy/silly/ unnecessary idea of 3D tvs.

A lot of the Pioneer TV engineers have indeed moved to Panasonic. But as for the abandonment of 3D, I think we're talking polythene cat in hell's chance...

I see what you mean. It does seem Panasonic are making a strong commitment to 3D.

In terms of resolution, any idea how long this transition from FullHD to 4K2K (MegaHD?) to 7680x4320 (UltimateHD?) will take? How long before blu ray becomes obsolete?

I doubt it. Why are they going to mess about with hi-end TV's when they'll be concentrating on shoving 3D down our throats?

Seriously, the TV industry has taken a big step backward in terms of improving the technology with the demise of the Kuro. We're talking about other TVs matching Kuro's performance in the next 1 or 2 years..............If Pioneer still made TVs, imagine what the 10th & 11th generation Kuros would be like!! Stick out tongue

Before they shut down, they were working on an incredibly thin plasma TV with deeper blacks than the 9th generation Kuro! Surprise

With regards to 3D technology....ummm.......no comments. The initial TVs will be pedestrian, like the 1st TVs. But over the next few years,....who knows.......3D may become the norm. Our future generations will be laughing at us for viewing films in 2D. There may be a projector version which will create images in air (like the film Total Recall, where Sharon Stone exercises with a 3D image - like a fitness video). Sleep
